In case you would like to transfer a domain from one registrar to another, you will need a special transfer authorization code, which may be called by many names – an EPP key, an AuthInfo code, a domain name password, and so on. All these names refer to one and the same thing – a code that the domain name owner obtains from the present registrar and gives to the new one at the time of the order. Without an authentic code, a transfer cannot be started and this is one of the security measures against unapproved transfers used with all gTLD and with most ccTLD extensions. For better security, the code comprises of numbers and/or special symbols and is case-sensitive, so if you would like to transfer one of your domain names, you have to present the new domain name registrar with the right code.

EPP Transfer Protection in Hosting

In case you have a hosting, you have registered a domain name with our company and you wish to transfer it, you can obtain its EPP authentication code with less than a few mouse clicks. When you log in to your Hepsia hosting Control Panel and navigate to the Registered Domains section, you’ll see all the domain names that you’ve registered with our company displayed in alphabetical order. To the right of each domain, you will see a mini EPP icon for all generic and country-code domain name extensions that need an EPP code in order to be transferred between registrar companies. Clicking on the icon will email the code to the domain name owner’s email address instantly. In the same section you can also see and eventually edit the email address, if the one there is not valid any longer.

EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

If you register a domain under a semi-dedicated server account with our company, you will be able to get its EPP transfer authentication code with only one click, in case you decide to move it to another domain name registrar. All it takes to accomplish that is to log into your Hepsia hosting Control Panel, to go to the Registered Domains section and to click on the EPP button, which will be to the right of the domain name. Of course, this button will be there only if the given domain extension supports transfers with an EPP transfer code. Within sixty seconds, an email message that contains the code will be sent to the domain name owner’s mailbox associated with that domain name. You can update the latter via the same section of the Control Panel – if the one that is presently listed in the WHOIS database isn’t a valid one. As the change will propagate without any delays, you can request the EPP transfer code immediately after that.
