Varnish is a web application accelerator, which has been gaining a lot of popularity lately, because it can increase the load speed of any Internet site, at times even by one hundred percent, depending on the content. This tool is sometimes called a caching HTTP reverse proxy too and is used to decrease the overall server load and to boost the access speed for the website visitors. Whenever a visitor opens a page on a particular Internet site, the browser request is processed by the web server and the requested data is delivered as a reply. If Varnish is activated, it caches the web pages that the website visitor opens and if any of them is loaded once more, it is served by Varnish and not by the web server directly. The increase in the performance is due to the fact that the accelerator processes the browser requests significantly faster than any web server, which results in much faster browsing speeds for the users. In case any content is updated meanwhile, the cached web pages will also be updated the next time someone attempts to open them.

Varnish in Hosting

Varnish comes as an optional upgrade with each of our hosting. You can add it to your web hosting account from the Hepsia Control Panel, which comes with all shared packages and you will get a pretty intuitive interface, which will grant you complete control over the data caching platform. Using 1-click quick-access controls, you can reboot or discontinue any of the instances, in other words – Varnish will no longer be enabled for a certain Internet site. You can also check an exhaustive system log file or delete the cache for any of the Internet sites. When you add Varnish to your hosting package, you’ll be able to select the total amount of memory that will be at your disposal for caching purposes and how many websites will use Varnish. You can always order more memory in increments of 32 MB and, for optimal performance, you can get a dedicated IP address for the sites that will use Varnish. This will enable you to take full advantage of your sites and to have a lot of happy users.

Varnish in Semi-dedicated Servers

All our semi-dedicated servers come with Varnish by default, so you can take full advantage of the web accelerator and improve the loading speed of any website that you host on our platform. You will get 64 megabytes of system memory dedicated to the Varnish accelerator at no additional charge and you can enable an instance with no more than a few clicks via the Hepsia Control Panel, which is included with the semi-dedicated server plans. If you want more memory, the latter is available in increments of 32 megabytes in the Upgrades section of the Control Panel and it will be at your disposal momentarily. You can also order more instances as a separate upgrade, so you can decide whether plenty of content will be cached for one website or if the available memory will be utilized by different Internet sites. Hepsia will permit you to reboot or to stop any instance, to view the system log for it or to clear the cached data using single-click buttons. To get the most out of the Varnish accelerator, you can assign a dedicated IP address to the Internet sites that will use it.

Varnish in Dedicated Servers

You can use Varnish in order to boost the loading speed of any site that’s hosted on a dedicated server from us when the Hepsia Control Panel is pre-installed on the machine. Not only will you get the content caching platform ready for use at no additional charge, but you will also exert full control over it via Hepsia’s easy-to-work-with GUI. It will take only one click to start or delete an instance or to delete the cached files for any Internet site that’s using the Varnish platform and if you are more knowledgeable, you can also see the platform’s logs. Varnish comes with no less than three gigabytes of system memory for site content caching purposes, so even if you run an enormous number of Internet sites on your server and they all use the caching platform, the improvement in their overall performance will be distinguishable. You’ll just need to wait for a while until Varnish caches whatever pages the website visitors open on their end. The Varnish platform works best if the sites use a dedicated IP, but considering the fact that our dedicated servers come with 3 free IP addresses, you’ll have everything you need.
